LT is 6 Months Old!

Can you believe it?  My little girl is six months old already.  Oh how I wish I could stop time and keep this one a baby for a little longer.  But since I can't I will just have to hold on and enjoy the ride.

This month Lil has learned to sit up on her own and her two top front teeth came in so she has 4 teeth in total already.

And she is on the move.  She can pull herself forward with her arms and push a little with her legs to get where she wants to go.  That means things are no longer safe on the floor.  She is especially attracted to paper.  If she spots paper on the floor she will scoot over there, grab it up, crinkle it and wave it around a bit, then settle down  to happily chew away on it. (I'm not sure that paper is a recommended first food but she seems to enjoy it.)

Look out here she comes!

This month she has started in interact with her big brother a little bit.  It sure is cute to watch.  Usually it is LK doing something silly which prompts LT to laugh, so then LK will do it again and again to get a laugh out of LT.

Of course sometimes when Lil will get into something that LK thinks is his he will quickly take it away from her and she will left wondering what just happened?  Or if she really wanted it she will get down right upset with him.  Such is the way of siblings.

It is hard to believe that half of a year has passed since she was born and yet it feels like she has been a part of out family forever.

Skating Carnival

This past weekend Star and Sky had their skating carnival.  This year the theme of the carnival was Rock 'n Roll.  Star and Sky skated to It Is A Long Way To The Top If You Want To Rock 'n Roll by AC DC.  It was just the two of them skating together for their number.  They did very well and had a lot of fun with it.  This is the final of event of the skating season so I no longer have to spend two afternoons a week at the rink.  However when I asked them if they wanted to be in skating next year I received two resounded yeses.  So I guess next fall will find me at the rink once more.

Yarn Along: Mystery Afgan and Funky Fingerless Gloves

Once again I am joining in with Ginny's yarn along.  Is it sad that I get excited for Wednesdays because I get to look at all the lovely yarn along posts?  I enjoy seeing what other people are making and reading.  I have a bunch of books on hold at the library after clicking through to a bunch of yarn along posts.  So thank you to all for sharing.  It is fun!

Here is what I've been working on:
This is clue two from the Bernat Mystery Afghan CAL. Isn't it pretty?  I think it would also look nice with the centre flower part done in a separate colour. I am enjoying doing this CAL.  It is keeping me motivated in my crochet, I am learning new skills, and I probably wouldn't have made this on my own.

I had to take a short break from the Mystery Afghan CAL to make a pair of these Funky Fingerless Gloves for Sky. She is going to be wearing them as a part of her figure skating costume this year. I still have to make a pair for Star and I'd better get on that since their skating carnival is next weekend. They are performing together and are really excited about their routine.

And this motif is Clue #3 in for the Mystery Afghan. I am falling a little behind as I still have 3 more of these to complete and Clue #4 was released today but we will get there.
I am reading Young Joan by Barbara Dana.  It is about Joan of Arc as a child.  I am about half way through it.  It is a little slow going but interesting so far.
