Happy Birthday Star!

12 years old today.

I can't believe my sweet, loving, creative, sensitive, kind, and wonderful first born is 12 today.  The years are going by too fast.  She has grown up so much this past year and is turning into a wonderful young lady.  

 Tonight I took Star to the library to get her own library card and then we went out for supper, just the two of us.  It was a little weird not having the rest of the family there but I hope she enjoyed the special attention.  I gave her the above poster for her birthday along with this mobile I crocheted for her room. 

We are having a big family gathering this weekend to celebrate her and LT's Birthdays.  I hope the weather is nice and we can enjoy being outdoors once more before it gets too cold for outdoor gatherings.

LT is Two!

I can't believe my baby is 2.  I guess I can't call her a baby any more.  She is growing into such a precious little girl.  She is sweet and caring and super helpful (at least she tries to be).  When cutting apples this fall she (on her own) went and got a plastic knife from the drawer and worked very hard beside me to cut the apples with her plastic knife.  Whatever I am doing she is right there beside me trying to help.  She is a little bit bossy and definitely knows what she wants.  She is caring toward her big brother making sure he gets his food at meal times and covering him with a blanket when he falls asleep on the chair.  She loves going outside and especially loves the kitties.  She also enjoys finding ladybugs, frogs, and caterpillars outside with her brother.  She used to be a little scared of them but has gotten much braver and is no longer afraid to pick up a caterpillar or frog.  She is talking quite a bit now and makes herself understood.  She loves to color and draw and is always willing to snuggle up with a story.  She is becoming her own little person more everyday and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for her.

LK is 3!

 Happy first birthday to our precious little girl.  We love you so very much!

LT is 6 Months Old!

Can you believe it?  My little girl is six months old already.  Oh how I wish I could stop time and keep this one a baby for a little longer.  But since I can't I will just have to hold on and enjoy the ride.

This month Lil has learned to sit up on her own and her two top front teeth came in so she has 4 teeth in total already.

And she is on the move.  She can pull herself forward with her arms and push a little with her legs to get where she wants to go.  That means things are no longer safe on the floor.  She is especially attracted to paper.  If she spots paper on the floor she will scoot over there, grab it up, crinkle it and wave it around a bit, then settle down  to happily chew away on it. (I'm not sure that paper is a recommended first food but she seems to enjoy it.)

Look out here she comes!

This month she has started in interact with her big brother a little bit.  It sure is cute to watch.  Usually it is LK doing something silly which prompts LT to laugh, so then LK will do it again and again to get a laugh out of LT.

Of course sometimes when Lil will get into something that LK thinks is his he will quickly take it away from her and she will left wondering what just happened?  Or if she really wanted it she will get down right upset with him.  Such is the way of siblings.

It is hard to believe that half of a year has passed since she was born and yet it feels like she has been a part of out family forever.

LK is Two!

This past weekend we celebrated LK's second birthday.  What a big boy he is! We just had a low key celebration with Grandpa being the only guest (and one of Star's friends was over for the day).  But we did have balloons.

And of course party hats.  LK wasn't too fond of his.

But Lil didn't seem to mind hers.

Then when someone was impatient for dinner to be served he decided that a plate made a better hat.

Birthday cake with candles is a requirement.  It took a couple of blows but he got those candles out.

Then it was present time (And yes they are just wrapped in newsprint but he didn't seem to mind.) 

  It has been a great year LK and I can't wait to see what this next year holds for you.

LT is 4 Months!

Can you believe another month has gone by already?  LT is now four months old.  She is growing like a weed and getting stronger every day.

She can roll over quite easily now and spends a lot of time on her tummy, looking around and trying to grab things.  Whatever she does manage to grab ends up going in her mouth.  She also got her first two teeth this month.  She likes to grab my fingers and put them in her mouth, but ouch, those tiny teeth are sharp!

Another discovery she has made is her toes.  She spends a lot of time grabbing them but she can't quite get them in her mouth.

She is strong enough now to spend short periods of time in the exersaucer. 

She continues to be a fairly good sleeper.  That thumb continues to find its way into her mouth though.  Here she has fallen asleep on the floor, thumb in mouth, with her arm through one of her toys. 

LT is 3 Months Old!

I can't believe LT is 3 months old already.  The time has just flown by.  She has been a very happy baby (except when she was sick the other day but that is to be expected).  This month she has learned how to roll over and can roll from front to back and from back to front.

She is also discovering her hands and is starting to grasp objects and toys.

While discovering her hands she also found out that her thumb is perfect for sucking on.

And this month she reached one of my favorite milestones, sleeping through the night.  I am not getting too excited as I know this can change but for right now I am enjoying the nights of (mostly) uninterrupted sleep.

What a wonderful little girl she is and such a blessing to our family.

A New Baby Girl

Last Monday Sept. 19 we welcomed a new baby girl to our family.  She weighed 7 lbs and 15 oz. and was about 19 1/2" long.  We were so excited to meet her.

She is doing well.  She latched on right away and continues to be a great nurser.

Star and Sky love her and are enthralled with her sweet face.

(LK is not so interested but he tolerates her).
